A former postal service employee was awarded almost three hundred thousand dollars in damages in a harassment suit involving the Medford postmaster.
Gayle Santoni and other postal service employees testified that James Foucult was verbally abusive and that he singled out employees during meetings and would go through their personal belongings.
Santoni said she had a mental breakdown because of Foocult's behavior and that doctor's advised her to take time off work.
She did take the time off and then was fired by the Medford postal service.
Sixty witnesses testified that they too had experienced or witnessed abusive behavior.
Foocult remains in his position as postmaster of the Medford office.
