(3/31/08) Curry County Marine Deputies have recovered the body of the Portland woman who drowned while rafting in the lower Rogue River last week.
The body of Kathleen Mills was found by two kayakers just below the Blossom Bar Rapids in an area known as "Devils Staircase".
Mills drowned when her body became lodged under the same rock that took the life of Cynthia Vontungein June 26th.
Mills is the third person to have died in the lower Rogue since June first but experienced rafters say they don't think the area should be closed down.
"I think we should continue to have fun. I think we've done these rapids and this river for years with no problems and to have a few bizarre incidents happen in a short period of time is very rare and it's really unfortunate."
The Curry County Sheriff says no restrictions will be placed on the lower Rogue. Rafters are cautioned to go through the area at their own risk.
