Oregon Is Providing Pre-Existing Disease Insurance

E-mail Print PDF

(7/14/10)  If you're an Oregonian and don't have health insurance because of a pre-existing condition  there's a new plan out tonight that will get you covered.State officials say they put the plan into affect now because the federal program for people with pre-existing conditions doesn't go into affect until 2014. To qualify for the new option you must have been uninsured for a minimum of six months, have a preexisting medical condition and be a United States citizen. State officials say premiums will range from $241-714 dollars each month. Some federal dollars are being used to fund the program. The plan will stay in affect until 2014 when the federal plan becomes available.
