NBC5 News Weekend anchor Laura Cavanaugh brings incredible experience to the NBC5 news team.  In addition to producing television news in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Laura’s resume includes an internship with Dateline NBC and a position with ABC News.  At ABC, she worked with the producers of Primetime Live, Nightline, World News Tonight and Good Morning America.

She earned a Master's degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts in both Spanish and Business from the University of Michigan.  Cavanaugh was selected as the recipient of  USC's Annenberg Director's Award for Excellence.

While working in New Mexico, Laura was recognized by the Associated Press for outstanding work and has earned  two awards from the New Mexico Broadcasters Association for General News and News Feature Story.

Laura  enjoys salsa dancing, quiet reading, good music, working out and college sports. She also loves to spend time with her miniature dachshund.

Laura says she can’t wait to explore the natural beauty and tranquility of Southern Oregon.

Craig Smullin is a reporter and co-anchor of NBC5 News at 5.

Craig grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area playing every sport his mom would drive him to. Craig attended Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California where he majored in Recreation Administration and Sports Management. In early 2005 he began a post-graduate internship with the NBC5 News sports department. He split his duties between news and sports. In the spring of 2006 he began writing and producing NBC5's Tank of Gas Getaway summer travel series. In the fall of 2006, Craig was promoted to Weekend Sports Anchor. And just recently, he moved from co-anchoring NBC5 News at Sunrise to NBC5 News at 5.

Craig is a dedicated Portland Trailblazer fan and enjoys snowboarding down the slopes of Mt. Ashland.

NBC5 News at Sunrise meteorologist Cameron Loughlin is a San Francisco native. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Sciences from San Francisco State University and a degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado.

Cameron interned and then reported for stations in the Bay Area. He is a runner and musician. He’s also a huge fan of Bay Area sports!
